Roof Waterproofing for Industrial Facilities

Context and Identified Problem:

During the rainy season, the facility experienced leaks at multiple points along the roof, affecting critical storage and production areas. Moisture caused deterioration of the metal structure, damage to stored materials, and increased the risk of accidents due to water accumulation in walkways and transit areas.

Implemented Solution:

The project began with a technical inspection of the entire roof, identifying cracks, sealant detachments, and rust-prone areas. Actions included: cleaning and disinfecting the surface to ensure adhesion, repairing and sealing structural joints and cracks, applying high-resistance elastomeric coatings with reflective properties to improve thermal insulation, reinforcing critical points with polyester mesh and high-performance sealants. The entire process was carried out in compliance with NOM-009-STPS for work at heights, using certified lifelines and anchors.

Results Achieved:

- Total elimination of leaks in critical areas.
- Anti-corrosion protection and extended lifespan of the roof.
- Improved thermal insulation, lowering internal temperatures.
- Reduced operational risks and accident probability from water buildup.
- Lower medium- and long-term maintenance costs.

Coordination and Execution:

The work was executed in close collaboration with maintenance and production teams, scheduling each stage to avoid operational disruptions. The applied system is backed by a performance warranty and proven resistance in demanding industrial environments, ensuring ongoing protection and optimal plant operating conditions.
